A quick character design that came to mind — vaguely inspired by 17th century plague doctor garb, where the beak of their mask would be stuffed with herbs and dried flowers to ward off bad smells. I combined that with my own passing thought (“If I were a mortician, how would I handle the smell of corpses decomposing? Especially the ones found a while after passing?” — cheery, I know) and put a modern spin on it.
